vShield Endpoint™
Secures virtual machines with offloaded anti-virus and anti-malware solutions, without the need for agents inside the virtual machine. |
|||
vSphere Replication™
Enables efficient, array-agnostic replication of virtual machine data over the LAN or WAN, and simplifies management by enabling replication at the virtual machine level. |
|||
Support for 4K Native Storage
Enhances platform scalability by leveraging high capacity drives. Reduce CAPEX. |

|||
Storage Policy-Based Management
Allows common management across storage tiers and dynamic storage class-of-service automation via a policy-driven control plane. |
|||
Distributed Resource Scheduler™ (DRS), Distributed Power Management™ (DPM)
Usage with business priorities by automatically load-balancing across hosts. Optimizes power consumption by turning off hosts during periods of reduced demand. |
|||
Storage DRS™
Automated load balancing now looks at storage characteristics to determine the best place for a given virtual machine’s data when it is created and used over time. |
|||
Storage I/O Control
Prioritizes storage access by continuously monitoring I/O load of a storage volume and dynamically allocating available I/O resources to virtual machines according to business needs. |
|||
Network I/O Control
Prioritizes network access by continuously monitoring I/O load over the network and dynamically allocating available I/O resources according to business needs. |
|||
Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) Support Allows one PCI Express (PCIe) adapter to be presented as multiple separate logical devices to virtual machines. Lets users offload I/O processing and reduce network latency. | |||
vSphere Persistent Memory
Leverages Persistent Memory to get DRAM like performance with flash like prices. |
|||
NVIDIA GRID vGPU
Enables native 2D and 3D graphics performance for virtual machines. |
|||

Q: Will I need any extra Windows Server licenses in conjunction with my VMware deployment?
A: Many national vendors do whatever is required to make the sale, or unqualified salespeople simply don't know the reality. At VMsources, we'll make sure you understand any extra licensing requirements that your VMware purchase or will require. The general answer is that vSphere deployed with the VCSA will not need any additional Windows licenses.
Q: Do I need Microsoft SQL Server and associated licensing for vSphere?
A: Not unless you choose to deploy vCenter Server Server for Windows, which is deprecated and we do not recommend anyway
Q: Should my vCenter be virtual or physical?
A: Always virtual! Many vendors will try to sell you extra server hardware by providing obsolete and incorrect information about virtualizing vCenter, but the proven truth is: VMware recommends virtualized vCenter Server and VCSA instances in every case!
Q: Can I combine my Horizon View VDI and Servers on the same vSphere Cluster?
A: Many vendors will tell you no, but the truth is absolutely YES! We'll have to consider your specific use case to determine the best value in vSphere licensing, however, because sometimes the best value is in combining VDI and Servers and sometimes the best value is in separate vSphere Clusters.
